Brake help needed
Hi all. New to the forum here. I am working on a 96 dakota, v6 powered. The problem is that I am getting no fluid to the rear brakes. It has a new master cylinder, Abs valve in engine comp. replaced with one off of a junkyard trck, replaced speed sensor off or J/Y truck. The rear wheels are not getting fluid to them. Where should I start checking first. Should the wheel cylinders still work if the ABS doesn't work? Thanks in advance for any help. I am new to working on Dodge trucks so if I am asking dumb questions, I appologize.
It appears that the "Hydralic System Control Valve" is not working. Testing to see if the master cyl. works, both lines move fluid out of the master cyl. But, when hooked up to the "HSCV" fluid does NOT come out of both ports. Only the ports for the front seem to work. Is this a part that normally fails?
After calling the dodge dealer, i need the parking brake metering control valve. $229. As anyone else had one of these fail? When I have it hooked up to the system, if I take the back line off, no fluid comes out. If I take the front line off, lots of fluid.
Thanks for the reply. We started to do that today, we are going to put the original valve in, my brother in;aw replaced it with one from a junkyard. We'll try to blow the old one out then blow out the rest of the lines.
