Default Help!!!!! Truck wont start

i have a 1987 dodge dakota and the other day i shut the truck off and i wouldnt start again...when i go to start the truck it just clicks but i checked the battery and it is reading good in the cab and on a multimeter it reads 12.8 volts i think it s the starter or the solenoid but i cannot locate the starter any help on what you think is wrong with it is greatly appreciated thank you

Did you check the amps or just the volts? it could have 12 volts and no amps and wouldn't do anything. Probably starter though, I believe mine is on the drivers side and you can see it from the engine bay looking towards the rear of the truck(looking down at the trans), mine is also manual though. If you find the starter try tapping it with a hammer while some one else trys to start it(dont let them run you over!)

i checked the volts not the amps and my truck is automatic
