Default Rear brake bleeding?

Any one have any tricks to getting the check valve to release to let fluid to the rear?

I tried the method in my Chilton manual since the 95 FSM doesn't seem to mention anything about it and it doesn't seem to want to center.

Are you talking about the check valve in the ABS system or the bleed screw?

For me I never had any problems with bleeding. Just loosen the bleed screw and once the brake pedal is pushed fluid is released.

Bleed screws are notorious for clogging up. Replace them if needed, using the special bleeder screws, not basic ones. Cheep and easy.

Mine no ABS system, the lines from the master cylinder go down under the drivers side door to a check valve. Then out to the front and rear, from what I understand it controls the flow and will stop the flow if it senses a massive pressure difference ie. a blown line.

I am getting nothing out of the rear bleeders, not even air.

thats called the proportioning valve. and it's contaminated with ps fluid that you talked about in your other post. you will have to replace it if you arent getting fluid to the rear wheels.
sorry man. i hope you can find one in a yard somewhere.

Lucked out drove to work last night with front brakes, got out this morning and the pedal went almost to the floor. Grabbed a co worker and bled the rear. Everything seems ok...for now.

im happy for you but im telling you be carefull. brakes aren't somethi8ng to mess with. if that valve gets hung again and its wet and you need to make an emergency stop you will slide like your on mud. i had that happen in a ranger i had and i had to put it in the ditch not to hit the guy the guy that pulled out in front of me.

replace it NOW! 9652 is absolutely right. i can't stress this enough but your putting your own life and others in danger for a few bucks. if it stuck once it will do it again.
