Default Air Conditioning

Now that it is getting to be air conditioning time we are having trouble on our 92 Dak not being able to shut the heater completely off. Don't really want to get involved with changing the cable right now so I am thinking of putting a stop valve in one of the heater hoses or would it be better to bypass the heater core by joining the hose from the water pump to the one coming off the intake? ? ? By the way we had the a/c checked today and it was working very good, when we blocked one of the heater hoses off with a vice grip. Thanks

Yes most likely it is a stock vent door. Cable is one possibility as well as trash blocking it ect. I say fix it correctly the first time.

But to answer your question yes you can just bypass the heater core. Just disconnect the hoses and route one to connect to the outlet and inlet of the engine. You can connect the hoses with an adapter and hose clamps but that may work its way loose and leak. Just use one hose.

Thanks Crazy, Yeah I know you are right . . . fix it right the first time, just wouldn't like to tie the truck up right now with the good weather.
