Default 93 dakota burnin up headlight switches

I think i figured out why my headlight switches keep burnin up! Someone had put those high dollar "blue" extra bright bulbs in this truck, and I heard that if you don't equip your wiring to handle the better headlights, your wiring will burn up. I think I'll just put stock lamps back in it. Am I way off here? Or did I understand that correctly?

Possibly for a few people that could be the reason. The main reason is the switch controls all the power to the lights. From factory they should of done individual relays per light, to reduce the power demand on the switch.

Thanks for the reply Crazy! Yeah, think I'll try the relays. I'll just get some relays @ parts store.

If you do relays take the time to upgrade the wiring to the lights also.

I did find that grnd wire on right fender, and its not attached to anything! All the headlight wiring is accounted for, so I can't tell what the grnd WAS connected to. Any ideas?
