there was actually a 4rth kind of rear window. a power sliding rear window. i bought a brand new 1996 dakota sport at a dealer i used to work for. the guys in the parts dept told me they had a power rear window that they had a hard time selling so they sold it to me for i think a hundred bucks..... went to a glass shop to have it installed because it was cheaper than the dealer.. power window motor went under the seat and it had a switch installed under edge of dash......... it was a factory window not an aftermarket unit. it was really really overkill on a standard cab BUT it was cool to watch peoples face to see that window open when i never reached back.........!!!!

That sounds pretty awesome. Overkill like you said but still cool haha.
I have only ever seen the ones that slide down on the newer trucks
