i have a 91 dodge dakota 4x4 v6 3.9 that the transmission went out in i need to know what transmissions are interchangeable its a 5 speed and want to keep it that way not shure what years and if a 2wd will work with the transforcase any help please

thanks the truck is my moms and she had the trans rebuild by a shop and they didnt put oil in the trans when they put it back togather and its been so long they wont fix it so now im trying to find a nothers trans to get it up and going for her

 

Oh ya and 2wd will not work on 4wd and vice-versa. Unless you swap the output shaft and it will need to be 100% dissembled to do that.
