Default Ignition Switch

The outside chrome part on the ignition switch in our '92 Dakota is loose and you can turn it around freely and 5 times out of 10 we have to put the truck in neutral to start because it won't start in park. Should we replace the switch or do you guys think this one can be fixed? Thanks

If I'm remembering right the chrome trim is just trim it has nothing to do with the switch.
The Park/Neutral safety switch is probably your starting problem for Park. Just replace it, it is located on the transmission above the pan on the drivers side 3 wire plug.
