Odd engine problem
My 92 5.2 had the same problem and it will slowly get worse, had no check engine light. I threw parts at it for almost 2 years (it was my second vehicle at the time). I finally broke down and had a friend put it on his computer. he came up with ecm or crank position sensor, (before his scanner died) since I already put in a rebuilt ecm I put the crank position sensor in, fixed it, it's been fine ever since. Found out Dodge and Chrysler famous for crank position sensors. The manual says you have to remove the air tube ( which should be seized and never to come off without breaking) you do not have to. 2 bolts, forget what size, and unplug it, it will sneak right out.
I was considering just replacing it no matter what. I had a station wagon with that problem. But it seems to be in a nearly impossible place to get to! Any tips?
edit:
Ok, I can just barely see it. Only trouble is I'm a big guy with big hands. I think if I can undo the bolts, I can pull the sensor up so I can reach the pigtail, which is out of sight right now. What kind of fit is this, as in , will I be able to lift it out and put it back in one-handed and blind? If there's any kind of force involved I don't think I'll have the leverage.

No, we have to have all that junk on the truck. So far it's been fine, even with all the nasty weather. Two days in a row of trouble and now nothing. I must have fixed or concealed the problem when I was looking around. Crossing fingers daily.
