Default Tuning options?!

Some I getting ready to start a new project, gonna do a turbo 360 in a first gen Dakota. Pretty much got a lot of the details worked out except for the tuning.

I'm very familiar with the tuning world for forced induction, though it's only been in the Honda world thus far. So I was curious what kind of tuning software 1st gen owners use. I have read about megasquirt and Sct Performance so far...

Can't use SCT on OBD1. As far as I'm concerned it's not a good option for boost anyways IMO, just not enough resolution. Megasquirt is great. I'm running it as fuel only and using a MSD BTM to retard timing. FMU is another option although primitive. With Megasquirt you will need bigger injectors(39 or 42lb). No matter what you'll need a bigger fuel pump as well.

Yeah I saw that about SCT, sounds like megasquirt is the way to go. I briefly looked over the options for megasquirt and seems there's a lot of was you can go with it. So on your setup megasquirt is fuel only and the msd controls your ignition?! Sounds like a nice setup, details by chance? I'm gonna gave to do some reading on megasquirt.

The stock PCM (actually it's a Mopar PCM) still controls the ignition and the IAC. The MSD BTM is used just to retard timing under boost. Megasquirt has it's own IAT and CLT and shares the stock TPS and uses my AEM wideband O2 sensor.
