Default Rear End Carrier

Bought a rear end out of a '99 Dakota because it has sure grip in it and I need to know if we can use the carrier from the '99 in a 1st generation Dakota. Where can we buy the clutches for the sure grip? Thanks

If both axles are the Chry 8.25 yes you can use the carrier but you will need the axles too.
As for clutches check www.rockauto.com or www.ebay.com or your local Dodge Dealer.

Thanks Crazy, never thought about Rock Auto. I don't really understand what is so different about the axles. Now I have another problem . . . can't seem to get the pinion out of the housing. Tried the BFH but that didn't work and actually thought we did good by getting the nut off. Thanks again

Did you get the yoke off? There is a special tool to remove the yoke from the housing. The FAQ has the service manual with complete R&R of the axle and interior parts.
