1996 Dodge Dakota SLT 3.9 Magnum
Hey I need to know if a 1993 Dakota trans will interchange with a 1996 and if possible what will need to be done to make it work?
Both trucks have the 3.9 V6 Magnum in them and both are two wheel drive. I tried to install the 93 into the 96 but the fly whell is different. I thought by changing the fly wheels out it might work, but then I noticed that the electrical connectors are totally different. The 96 has a rounf socket with about eight wires and the 93 has an oblong 3 prong socket.
Just wondering if I can hook up the of the wires on the 96 to the 3 prong connector and disregard the other wires? If so which 3 wires would I connect? Any help out there?

Gonna need a little more info. Is the 93 a V6 also? (I think a transmission from a V8 bolts right up and is also stronger) Are both trucks 2WD or 4WD? Pretty sure as long as both have the same engine, they'll have the same transmission and as long as they're both 2WD or 4WD then its a simple, straight forward swap.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong somewhere. Its 8 AM here and I haven't slept in about 24 hours lol
