i should have specified..it's a manual transmission...as far as i know it has never been changed...i am the 3rd owner of this truck (my dad bought it used years ago)...i checked the level of the gear oil level about 6 months ago and it seemed to be ok..i've been meaning to change it out but i have so many things to do on it it just keeps sliding down the to do list (new exhaust, tires, brakes, rotors, shoes, etc, etc, etc,)..this is one of a few leaks i need to address, i'm wondering what i was looking at..(i also have a rack and pinion leak, master cylinder leak, and a leak at the rear left brakes)
The fluid looks to be somewhat fresh. Do you have a puddle where it sits while resting? Do the old smell test. Grear oil, engine oil, R&P oil, coolant?
At least you've got it high enough, easy to slide under.
I love those Daks, had a '95, new off the lot. My stepson called a hour ago, the
water pump is leaking. (3.9). He has been running it since '05.
Had a '89, 3.9 also, wife's truck, sold it '04.
