Default Cooking my tranny?

Well, I finally got the tranny filled, and sure enough, the fluids burning... Well I look underneath, and the y-pipe is bent into the tranny pan. No damage, aside from the exhaust cooking my tranny fluid. How long do you guys figure I have until I cook my tranny? Think it should make it to friday night with only driving it to work and back? I don't know how I am gunna get the y-pipe off the tranny pan, but I'm sure I'll find a way

well, with your exhaust right ontopof the transmission pan, it'll overheat the fluid to over 300 degrees F and at those temps, the fluid will only last less than 1,000 miles. Get that exhaust issue fixed fast or you'll burn up your transmission real soon.

LOL! I don't know why Dodge put the pipe right on the oil pan. I had to cut and weld in a 1in spacer to push the pipe down off of the pan, I did a spacer on both sides but the driver side rubbed on the drive shaft after that. You may want to just do the passenger side. Most muffler shops can do it for you.

But it does come stock like that?!? I looked at my old truck, and there was a good 4 inch gap in between the tranny pan and the y-pipe. But I guess that is a 6 cyl as opposed to this 8 cyl. But still... Well if this is normal, then I guess I don't have to worry AS much, but I'm still gunna get it fixed!

From factory it is close but not touching. An inch or less of space in between. Yes get it fixed.
