Default Grinding noise

When my truck tires get a little hot, my truck will start to make a grinding noise.
If I am going over 15 mph the noise is gone. If I go slow say 4 mph the noise is load. If I just barely touch the brakes the noise is gone!!!!!!!! if I make a turn you can here the noise better then just going staight. I first thought it was the right side brake caliber, replaced that, (not it) I can't figure it out, Because If I just barely touch brakes noise is gone!!! what can it be? a Bearing would make noise all the time. Can the front axle be going?

Sure sounds like your brake pads are getting low. They have a squeaker or what ever it is called which makes noise when they are low. It goes away when pressure is put on the brakes.

I don't think it brake pads, cuz they seemed ok when I pulled the calibor. I could always try replacing them durring the week. But don't think it pads. what else does the brake effect?

Your rotors could be warped also. I'd jack up the front or rear (wherever the noise is coming from) and spin the the tires with your hand (in neutral). See if you can hear any rubbing or anything.

Had a very similar problem, grinding noise when going straight or turning left that dissapeared when turning right or tapping the brakes. one of two things fixed it(fixed both at the same time)

1st) upper left balljoint pushed out of the threads so i welded it in.
2nd) brake caliber shifted and wasnt sitting correctly. i took it apart and reinstalled the pads making sure everything sat flush and didnt have any play.

one of those two things or both cured my problem.

I got the same grinding noise in mine, except it only does it when I am turning at slow speeds, mostly in reverse. I have no idea what's causing this, and if you figure out what it is, let me know, but mine's not 4x4, so it might not be the same thing
