Horrible Squeal.
I thought I was out of the woods, and then my truck starts to squeal horribly. The serpentine belt walks on the water pump and the pulley was wobbling. So I replaced the water pump. Nothing. I take a look and it looks like it was loose. I replaced the belt tensioner. Nothing. I did that water test and when I poured water on it the squeal stopped. Afte rI put the tensioner on it, I hear a clicking sound. When I took a closer look I see that the tensioner is clicking. It looses tension momentarily and clicks back into place. What's up with that? Also the only other thing I can see being wrong is the power steering pump, which is right before the water pump so it would make sense, has play left and right in the pulley. What do you guys think? I'm going mad.
Its hard to say what it is without seeing it. But any of the pulleys could be making it. Idler to the alt to the power steering like you said. Try CAREFULLY spraying WD on each pulley without spraying to much or spraying the belt or anything else. Do it one at a time, see if you can track it down.
