i want to do a frame swap on my dakota to make it 4x4 its a 96 do u no if i could use the frame from another truck or does it have to be another dakota ?

As you can see from this thread any frame will do if you want. But anything but a Dakota with the same body style will require welding/cutting tons of customization.

well any 4x4 dakota frame from 1987 to 1996 i belive will work.
And it would only be about a weekend or two project. my truck has been a couple months. workings on it all the time. It all depends on what you want to do with your dakota.

i want to lift it 6 inch an a 2 inch body lift but in nh my bumber cant be more then 30 inchs from the ground so im gonna see how many inches it at as it sits an im gona start lookin for a frame soon an if u have any tips or insight on this topic i would greatly appreciate the help

Well look into it more. doing the frame swap. use a factory dodge dakota 4x4 frame. other wise you have to put in a tall body lift and wll most likey be more then 30 inchs from the ground.
