so i went through about 20 pages of threads and couldnt find anything on this, but how do you get the universal joint shaft off the steering gear. first time having to replace steering mechanism so just a little confused. so either a tip, advice or a redirect would eb appreciated, thank you. oh and its an 88 dak 3.9 2wd

 

nevermind the pin was just so mangled that it didnt want to budge, but its out and new pin installed

 

I'm glad you got it. It is to late but if it helps for next time or anyone else, use a air chisel with a punch head to tap it out easily.

 

that would be alot easier but due to the fact i had to do this behind my work i had no air tools accessible so it was all done by hand lol.
