Default Need some help/advice. wheel bearing

I was replacing a wheel bearing tonight on my 1996 dakota (3.9L 2wd). The outer bearing had seized and was frozen to the spindle. Long story short, I have new inner and outer bearings, but the outer one does not fit. Perhaps the spindle sustained damage that's not visible? The truck is currently jacked up and useless; now I have no vehicle.
What's some advice?

First I would verify you got the correct part. Check the part number on the box. Call up the place you bought it or check www.autozone.com and make sure it is correct.

Next maybe get a fine file and file down the bur.

It was the right part. I was able to get hold of a micrometer and measured the inside diameter of the bearing and the spindle. Found the high spots on the spindle, filed them down, and fits perfectly. All packed with grease and it's driving like new again.
Thanks
