Default Y Pipe

On our 1993 Dak 5.2 4x4 truck it seems like we are gonna have to put a new or good used Y pipe on it. Had no idea this part would be so expensive, where do you think the cheapest place to buy would be?

$277 from Rockauto.com was about $100+ cheaper than NAPA, Oreilly and Autozone.

Thanks for the reply. Guess we will have to go with Rockauto, they are always the cheapest, even when we factor in the shipping. Just didn't expect to pay that much.

What is wrong with your Y-pipe?

The Y pipe is rotted and there's nothing left to weld or patch.

Maybe you can paint (obviously with high-temperature paint) the outside of the new Y-pipe to help prevent this from happening again?
(I kind of laugh at using the word "again" because the original apparently lasted 20 years, and for some reason I doubt most of the people on this forum will still have their trucks when their trucks turn 40 years old.)

Maybe you're right about the painting and lots of it. We got lucky and just bought a brand new Y pipe yesterday for $95.00 Cdn. Thanks for all the replies.
