Exclamation Finally found the source of my electrical gremlins

Alert!!

Per thread... https://dodgeforum.com/forum/1st-gen...s-stay-on.html

Anyone who has an overhead console, take note!

The steel bracket of which the console affixes to has very sharp edges. This edge is what cut into the harness supplying the OH console and God knows what else.

I pulled out of my driveway this morning and.....smoke poured from the console. I quickly pulled back in and shut her down, then proceeded to evaluate the problem. The harness is wrapped, but over time the edge just cut right through.

I now have my dash lights, interior lights and I don't know what else yet. Can't wait for dark thirty to take her out and see what it's like to see again.

Dang that is crazy. Well I'm glad you found the culprit and fixed it. Good job.

Thanks Crazy. I probably should have said, the source found "me."

Now to re-install all the courtesy bulbs I pulled when they wouldn't shut off.
