Default not a mechanic please help

Is there any diffence in the crankshaft of 92 dodge dakota 6 cyl and the v8 besides the amount of cylinders. what im asking are the connecting rods interchangeable?

My guess is not. The 318 to the 360, maybe. but I doubt the 6cyl to the 8cyl will have the same connecting rods.

Crazy4x4RT will be able to tell you for sure though.

I didn't know you had a post up in here. I did PM you back but I'll post it up in here too.

I would assume the 5.2 connecting rods should work for the 3.9. The 3.9 is the exact same as the 5.2 minus 2 cylinders. But I'm not an expert, if you want to know for sure ask a engine rebuild shop.

Why do you ask?

The easiest way to tell if they are interchangeable as a STOCK replacement is to goto either Autozone.com Advancedautoparts.com Napaonline.com or a Part store's website like Oriley or something, and type in BOTH of the vehicles and look at the part numbers. That's a quick shot, now second thing you could do is to look at all of the sizes with a micrometer to tell you, but that's just my 2 cents, quick and easy, parts store's website, hard way micrometer and a hour of your time.
