What sounds best with this motor is all up to you. Its personal preference, man. But don't get the knock off or the flowmaster lol. Just youtube dakota exhausts and see what ya like.

Aero Turbine 3030 or Hooker Aerochamber, either of those are better than Flowmasters or Magnaflows IMO.

ok thanks i was wanting a very deep throaty sound, i had flowmasters on my mazda and that sounded good for a 4 banger. Is there a difference between single and dual or is it just about looks.

I ran a flowmaster on my last 98 V8 Dakota.
IMO it sounded great for a 2.5" Catback exhaust. Had a decent raspy tone to it that I personally prefer for exhaust tone.

While a friend of mine with a 97 3.9L dakota has a 2.5" Catback Magnaflow exhaust setup. Its got a much deeper tone then my old Dak had. I know theres a difference in the engines obviously but this is just my experience with them. I'd assume the Magnaflow would sound somewhat similar on both engines minus the added volume of 2 more cylinders.

I would have just recommended a thrush glass pack. Sounds real aggressive on my 4.7L.
