Default No Overdrive

The overdrive stopped working in my 95 5.2l 4x4 dakota. I checked the fluid and everything is good so I picked up a new speed sensor that looks like this:

The only problem is I don't know where it goes. I know there is a speed sensor on the transfer case but it looks nothing like this and it controls the speedo, which works fine.
Can someone tell me what i'm missing here?

If the problem is more complicated then this I'm just going to do a manual swap in the future...
Thanks!

Yes the speed sensor on the transfercase is what tells the PCM what speed your going, which the PCM also uses that info to turn on and off the OD and TCC. So if your OD isn't working but your speedo is you have another problem. The service manual in the FAQ has a diagnostic chart for the OD. Also I have never seen that sensor you posted up.

I've seen a speed sensor like that, but it was for my mom's 2001 Durango with a 4.7 liter and 46re(?) tranny.

I did a lot of searching and everything I found was pointing to the speed sensor. On every parts website this sensor comes up under my truck.
I'm just going to return this part, I can live with no overdrive until I swap in a 5 speed.
Thanks for the help everyone

Autozone does list that one about listed, but under the notes
Application:
With 42RE or 46RE automatic transmission model

The RE models didn't come out till 96, so it is not the 95 version.

Under the FAQ we have the parts manual. Here is the part number for the correct speed sensor.
1 5234 422 1 SENSOR, Speed
Here is the crossreference to the part number.

It doesn't sound like its sensor due to your speedo is working. Again look at the FAQ it has the service manual with the diagnostic charts.
