Ok so I found a manual transmission on a 5.2l engine 2wd, is there anyway that my np231 can attach to it? So I can keep my truck 4wd?

 

Not really easy. The 5.2 came with the NV3500 if you have a 2wd and 4wd you could just swap out the tail housing adapter and the output shaft you could convert it to 4wd. But not worth it if your all ready tearing it all apart just to do that.

The only other option is do a divorced transfercase system which there is short driveshaft the goes from the transmission to the transfercase. But you need a divorced transfercase to do it, the NV231 will not work on that setup.

So in short, no it will not work.

 

Damn cause they want 150$ for the 2wd trans, all I want is something to turn into auto shop for core so I can get it remanufactured into 4wd
