Default Tranny Issues

I have an 88 with the 2.2 and np 535 all I can find to replace it with is an ax 15 will this swap cause me any problems and what parts will I have to convert from the np to the ax? please help me out!!!!!

I'm not the best transmission guy, so I don't know exactly what you would need, but I assume if the ax15 came off of a Dakota 4cly pull it all and you should have no issues. If needed grab the driveshaft and flywheel too if needed.

There lies the problem. The one that I found is off craigslist and like 50 miles away. The seller speaks Spanish and I really don't have the time to waste. From what I understand it comes out of a 99 V6. I did find a 318 with a 727 out of a 73 Chrysler. I know that would involve a floor shifter for an auto, tranny lines, cooler, and all that. What about bolting it in? I would think I would need a custom shaft made to , right? I really want a V8, the 2.2 is just so gutless, and I really love my truck. I want to keep it old school.
