Default 89 no start runs if fuel poured into tbi

I am a real amateur and may have found a real gem. It sounds like the 89 with a 3.9 won't set any records but could go for a while. Anyway, truck has sat for more than a year and I might be able to get it for under 500. Is this a good deal or not. I was able to get it started but only if I had a buddy pour fuel direct into tbi. I know this means I have spark. I do not see any fuel spray from the two injectors but I do have fuel coming from the supply and return lines feeding it, though id smells pretty weak. I assume that there is water in tank so I plan on draining and replacing along with filter. Regardless of that I should see spray from the injectors correct? Also the headlights are not coming on so is this maybe a electrical problem? Thanks for any help

Bad fuel pump or bad wiring or with good luck a simple fuse. Ya if it is worth it to you $500 sounds good.
