i had some time on my hands this weekend so i adjusted the throttle rod(which went extremely well(minus the hard shift into overdrive and the hard shift into reverse) and pretty much went to town on the back half of the frame this weekend.

i stored the toolbox and tailgate in my shed...


removed the bed myself(yes you read that correctly i did it myself) which is why its only 2ft away from the truck...lol


tried to remove some of the retardedness...err...i mean wiring and stuff...


i was going to remove the fuel lines also but i ened up spilling fuel all over the frame so that was out at the time...
btw i broke this whilest removing the bed...is it important?


pulled the wiring harness off the frame completely.

after sorting everything out, snapping a few bolts i took my angle grinder to the rust. atleast till i found a piece of wire from the wire wheel in my wrist...
(i don't have pics of this process due to being on my own)

after i got a majority of the rust off i took spray paint and hit the frame to keep it from rusting overnight.

then today i took the rest of my can of herculiner(i had previously used some on the subframe and oil pan of my hyundai) and tried to open it...it sealed itself shut so basically i had to do this.


then i got to work on the frame...

then i ran out before i could finish and i didn't get more as i was being cheap this weekend...i didn't spend a penny at all except to put gas in my other gas guzzler...

keep in mind though that this part rightn ow is just the rear art of the frame, since winter is around the corner i'm still debating on whether to do the front half soon or wait till spring as i will be doing this to my friends suburban...

it took me almost 2 days to do this outside starting around 1pm stopping at sundown(6:30ish?)...and i also recommend anyone wishing to do this to remove the other misc item(i.e. fuel tank, exhaust, brake parts) as it is a b*tch to get around everything and it looks a lot better when finished...

also i managed to break this..


for those who don't know(or can quite see the pic, which i do apologize for the blurriness) it is the connector for the fuel pump and that is the pin for the power wire to the pump which is stuck in the connector...

and i found out that my rwal module is bad too along with the wire running to it so that will need to be replaced...

i only snapped 2 bolts and that was because i bumped the switch on my impact gun without realizing it...lmfao

I'd say do the front half while you're at it. It'll protect the metal from the snow during the winter, assuming that you get snow haha

 

Looks good but I'm not impressed with herculiner myself. My truck had the bed coated with it and it has scraped off in MANY spots, and pealed in a few others.

 

Looks good but maybe you will have to leave the front half until spring. Sorry I wasn't closer to help you put the box back on.

 

yes we get snow...lol i would have done the front half and both the axles but at this point in time i don't have the time, especially with the holidays coming up i'm books at work.

thanks i had help to put it on. it was jsut with taking it off i didn't want to bother the guys siding my house and my friend got hung up on replacing his fuel pump...

so far the truck is parked till i can get to the junkyard and get the part off the fuel pump to fix mine...i'm thinking about changing my fuel pump to one without the filter and installing an inline filter under the cab like my old 93 had... and i have to replace my rwal module and the wire running to it
