I'll throw in a bit more info. The belt that most part stores have listed for the Non AC Dakota is to short flat out because I had that issue right off the bat to. I had to go an inch or two longer in the end(Hopefully the parts stores near you have a bit of a selection length wise). No other modifications were needed here is some pictures of my set up.

As you can see all that is really different in the belt route is with the AC gone the belt goes straight from the idler pulley to the power steering pulley.
Hopefully this helps

Rabid, thanks a lot for posting the pictures. We got the factory non a/c bracket today and it all went together good. It Works
We aren't close to any parts stores that have a big inventory that we could look for different size belts, seems like they have to order in almost anything you want so for us, most of our parts comes from Rock Auto. The only difference that I like about the non ac bracket is that you can get to the bypass hose so easy.
One of pictures shows both brackets and the other pic shows it installed. Today was first time we fired it up since we put the hockey pucks in and everything seems to be OK except the brake light is on so maybe we broke a brake line, will have to check on that.

I first saw the Non AC bracket a few months ago, and I believe you can make one by sawing off the AC part of your existing cast aluminum bracket....
And, I don't know if it was correct, but the one I saw had the ribbed part of the belt running against the idler pulley surface....

We posted pictures but guess they were too big or something? The non ac bracket has the idler pulley in just a bit of a different position to make the belt work. Will try to downsize the pics and post again.

Correct, like I stated before the bracket shifts the alternator in a different place than the AC bracket.

So your choices are to use the AC delete pulley or get the Non-AC bracket.

Here is one quick picture from www.allpar.com

non ac bracket, I have a pic, but can't edit it, or upload it, might be time to wipe this computer clean of all the extraneous software and start over...
