Another exhaust manifold option
Putting a 5.9L Magnum engine in an 89 and I am having trouble fitting the 92-93 passenger side exhaust manifold and Y pipe, they just don't match the frame notch.
So I was digging around in my spares and found an extra manifold that I had forgotten about. The JEEP passenger side magnum engine ex. manifold dumps higher up than the Dodge one does, so modifying that side of the Y pipe might be just the ticket. THe dump opening is the same size as 92-93 Dodge manifolds. The muffler shop can remodel that side so that the pipe fits the frame notch....
Jeep magnum engines have the starter on the passenger side. The drivers side exhaust manifold hangs down low between the back 2 cylinders and curves tight against the block and is useless on a Dodge as the starter sits there.
Pic shows the Jeep in front of the dodge, PN is 53009376. Last number might be an 8...
Just adding this bit of info in case it is new to the forum....

it is an option, still thinking that I can move the engine back a few inches....I got the shop floor covered with scrap metal looking to find a way to lower the engine, and move it back.
Seems the tranny cross member can go, there will be a new one that mounts on the bottom of the frame.....turns out that if you eyeballl the middle of the tranny xmember, it is in line with the bottom of the frame. Wonder why they built that hinky stamped steel one that gets in the way of a good exhaust system?
Of course, I have the wrong oil pan on it......but backing up a few steps occasionally is normal for me....good thing I don't do this for a living....
