Default Help Im stranded in Portland

My 1987 Dodge Dakota has stalled, it will start and idle but as soon as drive for 20 secs it stalls out. It will start again after about 5 turn overs then go for 20 secs. gas is getting to carbarator. gonna check coil tommorrow. I read about this 9 volt battery as well, kinda seems strange. Any help would be great guys thanks!!! Its a Meineke now,Hope to get on my way to California A.S.A.P

Ya probably something to do with the ignition/timing.

I will move this to the 1st Generation Dakota Sub-Forum.

Default carb

put a new carb on it and u guessed it, still stalling, they think it might be the module, kinda thought it was a electric/ computer issue, hope this works. ANd Yes i want my old carb back on, there was nothing wrong with it.

i don't think it's electrical, sounds a lot like the fuel pump. if it is mechanical they tend to blow the inner seal. if it's electric the pump has to be replaced.
the 87 was the bridge between carbs and fuel injection.

Turns out the fuel lines were plugged, fuel pump plugged and carb plugged. So they blew lines replaced everything and I'm back on road headed to coast. Hope the Old Dodge Dakota runs well now. Guess when i added that fuel injector cleaner a ways back loosened up stuff, and there wasn't even a fuel filter on it.
