I usually try to do all 3 with it, but my old ford explorer didnt like the seafoam treatment so i was curious if anyone has had bad experiences with seafoam.

LOL my Explorer didn't like anything except, clutches, starters, tranny rebuilds, and gas. It was all wheel drive and got 21MPG on the road but who wants to be doing clutches and trannys all the time.

well mine was an automatic with the craptastic A4ld transmission... other than that it didnt give me many issues (no major engine work just normal crap and the 4 transmissions in 350k miles lol)

well i bought a mopar oil filter yesterday and i gotta get the oil sometime today and hopefully it helps.

Now tho it seems to be running really warm, even tho it has gotta alot colder the last few days here in iowa. Normally my temp gauge read about half way, now its been getting closer to 3/4s of the way up the gauge. and last night when i shut it off it seemed to be steaming/smoking around the radiator. Could this be oil related as well as im not low on coolant.

well got the oil changed today, mopar filter and some 10-30 oil. what is the oil specs for these trucks... i do not have an owners manual and couldnt find it anywhere on the truck.

oil pressure is still low, but it seems to be more constant... i didnt run it very long just long enough to pull it out of my garage and park it... tomorrow will be the first real drive and i'll see there if its any different.

and just as a note, i hate people that put damn oil filters on too fricken tight! couldnt get the wrench to turn it so had to do the old screwdriver trick!

If you put a half quart of ATF in the oil, it will help clean the inside of the motor

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr If you use the ATF trick don't go over the 1/2 quart. I babied my Ranger like no one does. 83,000 miles and its engine was damaged by Jiffy lube who put ATF in the engine, ate the front seal in 100 miles. I power washed it and it was the front main seal leaking. all that was wrong was the seal. Took it back and it developed a cut and a leak in the steering return line. For some strange reason they also changed the oil and filter.

I have heard that and been told it works and isnt harmful with less than half a quart. I've also been told to add it to top off right before an oil change ( give it 50 miles or so to run before changing your oil)

Im going to also try the 1/2 quart or less method to top off in a few hundred miles, and drive it a day and change it for my next oil change.

If it aint one thing its another. I finally got weather to change cpu temperature sender and when I went to unclip the lead it disinigrated in my hand. Mopar no longer carries it and the orr Mfg doesnt make it any more. Mopar man told me maby junk yard, aint this a biach! Myrmidy : got small connectors from radio shack and am going to attempt to fab my own. Time will tell. ( I once made a syncro bar for tranny from a big nail, a grinder and a file, that worked so we will see if this does.
