I just bought a 1988 Dodge Dakota v6 3.9L four wheel drive with 200K miles. It runs and looks good. I had a heating core problem and trying to fixed my self. I took everything apart and replaced a new heating core. I allmost put it back togather and got realy nice heat. But I have to prablems.1-the central distrubiting unit will not fit tightly
2-the door that distributes the heat up,down or infront is not opening or closing when I push the desired buttons. If anyone understands what I am talking about pleas help.

The doors work off of vacuum supplied by the engine. Check all your hoses.
