So i have a 91 318 5.2 dakota sport, my abs and brake light have been flickering on and off occasionally the last few days..

i have great brake pressure, and the parking brake is fully released..

Well today it came on and stayed on. a friend following me also said that my brake lights werent working during this period either,

ive checked fuses under the dash, where should i look next.. if this is causing my brake lights not to work too i need to get it fixed asap.

sometimes when i push the brake pedal in, the lights go off and as soon as i release them they come back on...

so, i did the code check method, and it flashed 7 times, but then would not stop flashing so it would flash 7 times, then pause then repeat, shut the truck off and it did it still once restart, so question is where should i look beings its a code 7, as for repeatedly flashing i pulled the negative cable and resetting the computers.

And when you check for the abs codes, are you supposed to have the key on or off or truck running, since i didnt find exactly how to do it.

so i pulled the battery and now its back on, and this time it flashed 8 times... whats does dump output missing or shorted to ground mean?
