headlight problem

Default headlight problem

95 dodge dakota headlights go on and off by themself any suggestion on what might be the problem???

Possibly the switch which has an internal circuit barker.

I will move this to the 1st Generation Dakota Sub-Forum.

does it do it on the high beams or just in general? mine was doing the same thing and it was a loose connection at the on/off switch. i put in a new one and it fixed the problem but for some reason if i have the high beams on to long it pretty much over heats ( the switch that is ) and shuts off. but if i put back on low beams they work again. so i would start there. pull the trim panel and have headlights on and wiggle the connector around and see if they go on and off.

Our 89 needed a new switch. It did it for a month or so then went to no high beam. Switch fixed it.
