Default Tranny problem help!!

HI i got a 91 dakota 4x4, 3.9, auto tranny. I was driving home the other day and i started to hit the gas after sitting at a stop light and it acted like the torque converter wasnt engaging properly, like pressing in on the clutch in a standard while trying to accelerate, so i pulled over and looked under the truck and saw tranny fluid leaking out of the front of the bell housing. it was basically pouring out, it was also making a knocking noise like the flywheel was hitting on the cover or something. my first thought was that the flywheel cracked and busted the front seal or something but i dont really know,i need help on what to look for because i dont know much about auto transmissions and im only 16.

Thanks ahead of time

Im no big tranny guy myself but have done all my own work on all my cars since I was a teen."Thanx Dad"..Anyways,seems from what you said you'll need to pull it to really tell what it is.Your on the right track though..There's a seal around the shaft on the tranny that may have blown.Dont think of the worst but try the cheaper fixes first..Good luck!
