Default mpg questions

i want to try and get a few extra mpg out of my 5.2. i was thinking of a throttle body spacer and maybe a computer chip would get me a few extra. id there anything else you guys would recommend..

also as far as computer chips go i found alot on ebay that are going for about $10 but i really dont trust them since they are so cheap. any recommendations on one of these and also im not looking to loose any towing capacity if anything i would like to gain

Throttle body spacers and "Chips" don't do anything. Don't waste you money. For the best MPG you can get, do a complete tune up, all fluids including brake and diffs. All filters and replace all ignition components. The BEST thing to do is keep your foot off of the throttle, keep the RPMs below 2,000rpms or so. Remember it is a V8 and it is a truck.

What size tank? How many gallons to a fill? Divide miles by gallons and get an actual mileage. Your guage could be screwed, which is not uncommon for our Daks. We have a 3.9 4x4 short cab, and a 5.2 4x4 extended cab. Winter driving, winter warmups, etc, results in 10 to 12 on both, and I drive very easy. 4x4 when roads are bad can drop them below 10 but that depends on road and traffic idiots out 4 wheelin thinking they are driving a tank. Best highway mileage in good weather I see: 19 to 22 on the 5.2, 24 to 26 on the 3.9.
