I do appreciate the time you spent explaining this procedure.
I can only assume that through the PCV tube connection into the intake, that there would be some oil residue visible inside the intake when looking down through the throttle body.

yes, a certain amount of oil residue would be normal...

Well, I tried the test procedure. The best I can conclude; there is positive pressure when covering the openings in both valve covers. I placed my finger over the one the pcv valve fits into, and the palm of my hand over the other side. I feel more of a outward pressure and can not detect a vacuum. Also, I can see the slight oil mist leaving the openings while left uncovered. I think the oil residue I'm seeing inside the kegger intake is from the pcv opening. I'm not sure why this vehicle spark knocks on 87 & 89 octane gas???
