Hi i have a 3.9 v6 out of a Dakota and i need to know how to identify what year it is... i am think its 93-96..

There are casting numbers you can look up, but not many complete lists of Dodge casting numbers especially for a V6. What year is the truck? Or is the engine outside the truck?
87-92 V6 is a LA engine, all the same long block.
92-03? V6 is a Magnum engine.all the same long block.

i got it from a friend who doesnt know the exact year and i put it in my yj

Post up some pics. I'm curious to see how it all looks. Post up the pics of the engine and how how it fit.
