I think i need a fuel pump
I had not been able to put a fuel pressure gauge onto the truck, but the truck had stalled monday and started back up, but this time after it started up and i started to drive it was sputtering then would run fine then sputter. Another reason why i think its the fuel pump is i dont really smell fuel after i start it up. I would think that if the fuel pump was working properly i could smell all the fuel that had been dumped into the cylinders.
Make sure you do all other diagnostics before you drop 200-300 on a fuel pump. Thats what happened to me. I bought the pump, still didnt start. Fixed the splice deal, still wont start. Now I am chasing the harness to the pump to see if there are worn wires or something.
mine does start back up though. it takes a minute or 2 but it will start back up. The truck likes warmer weather because the stalling dosnt happen on warmer days ( here in columbus we have been having weather from the low 30's up to the low 70's). On the colder days, around 45 or below, the truck will stall. But on days when it is above 45 it will runs fine. I do have a inline fuel filter, i think its around the cab on the drivers side. It was one of the first thing replaced after i bought the truck but then again that dosnt mean that it hasnt gotten clogged up, it will most likely be getting replaced soon.
