I've got a 90' standard 4spd w/ OD Dakota. I recently had some major issues with my tranny. I have 1st and 2nd gear, 5th and barely reverse. I completely lost 3rd and 4th. 3rd slips out and grinds. I figured it might just be my linkage. I've pulled the plastic case rubber etc off of the truck and im left with the 4wd stick and the gear shift. Everything is as is because I'm not sure what to do from there. help?

Will it just not go into 3rd or 4th? If thats the case, the syncros from 2nd-3rd and from 3rd-4th could be bad. And will require replacement or rebuilding.

My syncros have been going for a while. But I know people who drive without syncros at all for years. That's why I'm not convinced it's that.
