Default bucket seat install

I got a 91, 2wd, 3.9l, single cab, 158xxx miles, picked her up for $400. needed tires, got some practically new 235/75/15 given to me, some minor work, brake hose both sided in the front, rear brake line replacement. But other than that it'll start right up and go. It has the bench seat and i dont like that at all. i would like to put in bucket seats but dont know how to go about it. i am very handy and do all my vehicle repairs and mods myself but am stumped on how to go about this. Pics would be great of how it is done. thanks in advance

forgot to mention frame is perfect, for a north eastern vehicle with winter roads and all the salt, just some surface rust but nothing major at all. has the common rust by rear tires and cab corners

There are always posts up on this topic. The basics is that only 1st Gens. 87-96 will bolt in easy. Other than that anything can be added in with custom mounts. There are buckets, the bench and the 60/40 buckets.

Here is one you may want to look over. As well look in the FAQ2 there are a few write ups.

Seats are pretty straight forward. Find some you like that will fit for you (height if you're tall, distance lost/gained from the steering wheel/column if you're fat like me ) and pull the mounts off them. Set them in place and weld, drill, and bolt accordingly. Not much to it other than looking at what needs to be added/removed and doing it.

I'm looking at doing it in my Dakota now actually. I've done it in two of my Jeeps. I swapped a bench seat into one of my Cherokees (no pics, sorry) from a Comanche and all I had to do was weld on extensions for the plates to line up with the stock bolt locations. Luckily with bucket seats you don't have to worry about anything but being able to bolt the seats down and wiring if you're going over to power, heated, ect seats.
