Haha, yeah, put a new one in just before dinner. The truck runs and sounds better, but she still wants to die.
So I guess I'm looking for a vacuum leak.

Since your going to be checking the throttle body for vacuum leaks id go ahead and buy a new gasket and pull it off and clean it up really good. If you do that clean the end of the plunger for the idle air control valve. Also check all your vacuum port caps and the vacuum hose right where in goes onto the nipples on the throttle body and intake. Also dont forget to check the rubber boot for the map sensor.

Sounds like it may be a bad IAC Idle Air Control valve/motor. They are a common problem even lots of new out of the box units are bad.

Thanks guys. I've already cleaned the IAC valve, but who knows if it's operating properly.

If im not mistaken there is a test procedure to check the IAC pintle to make sure its moving out to the proper length.

So, I still have yet to check for a vacuum leak, but what I was going to was pull off the throttle body and clean it. The Haynes book tells me that I must relieve fuel pressure, which, according to the book, is a long process.....but is it needed? Or can I just follow the procedure for the 2nd Gen?
I think the process to test the IACV is to just put the key to the start position and check to see if the pintle moves.
