Air Filter
Those are some neat lookin filters lol.
I've had to switch from my K&N Filter recently to a spare paper one I had lying around lol. I ran out of oil for the filter.
BTW: when I installed my open air filter which was the edelbrock style one. I was able to buy a spacer that lifted the base high enough to clear all my engine parts making it sit perfectly flush. Dunno but that might be an option for you if your homemade one doesn't work.

Well the one i made up is working great. I originally wanted to buy a spacer but no local stores had them. They would have to order them so i made my own lol. And thanks crazy ill have to try that website.

Those filters "look" cool but now you're sucking hot air from under the hood instead of cool air from outside which is going to inhibit performance. If you wanted more air you should have done something like this:

Well it seems to be working just fine. But thanks for the suggestion. Considering i will be installing either a ram air hood, cowl hood, or just a hood scoop on my stock hood soon. I think this air cleaner is my best option.
To say the truth also I haven't had that air cleaner on for a few months, for offroading I use the stock setup to keep out dust and water, the stock position will allow water to be sucked in, I have it setup on the battery side. I have the stock setup still on at the moment.

Sorry A.J. i wasn't trying to be a smart@ss. Im looking to build my truck into a street-rod/cruise-in truck. Something that will turn heads sitting still and driving by. If you kind see what im getting at.ive got 2 kids and im married now so my drag cars and show car day's are pretty much over and i bought this truck to keep my mind busy on weekends and when im done me and the family can all enjoy it at the strip and at the cruise-ins. It is a budget build and ill be doing all the work myself so its going to be a long steady process. Again sorry if i came off the wrong way.
