Default Temp gauge and 180 Thermostat

I just installed a 180 degree thermostat like everyone suggests.
But, now my temp gauge never seems to register anything, even after long drives.

Where is the temp sensor?
Are there any fuses or other parts inline with the gauge that may go bad?

Thanks for the help.

Im guessing that you have the 5.2 engine. If so the temp sensor is beside the water neck on the intake. Some years have 2( one on each side of the water neck). If yours has 2 then the one with only one wire going to it is the sensor for the guage. As far as anything being inline with the sensor and guage i dont think there are any fuses but maybe a few connectors. And like mentioned above there are downloadable service manuals in the FAQ.

If the gauge at least gets to the 1st line on the arch then it is reading normal for a 180 degree thermostat.

Here is a quick picture I threw together to show it, yes I stole this pic from another thread.
