Default interference or non-interference

probably been covered before but just curious about my 93 3.9, is it timing chain or belt or both and is it a interference or non-interference ?

It has a timing chain and is an interference engine.

For those who may not know what an interference engine is, it is if the timing chain or belt broke the pistons could interfere with the valves and cause damage.

Is my 1987 dodge dakota interference or non interference it's a 3.9 6 cylinder

Lonniep,

Your 1987 3.9L LA V6 is an interference engine. For reference, all Mopar LA and Magnum engines are driven by a timing chain and are interference engines.
