Default Engine temp dial on dash not working

Not sure if this is the right place for this post so forgive a first timer.

While replacing a leaky heater hose on my 5.2 92 Dakota I broke my engine temp switch (sensor on passenger side at front of intake manifold). After replacing that, my Dakota ran funny, had a check engine light on and did not indicate a temp on the dash. Also, the engine would stall momentarily when I punched the accelerator.

I rechecked the connection to the temp switch which checked out ok, but noticed the temp sensor (the one next to the big radiator hose at center front of manifold) was unplugged. Probably happened while swapping the heater hose. Anyways I plugged it back in and the engine light came off, and the engine ran normally again, but the temp dial on the dash still does not work.

Any ideas why I'm not getting a reading at the dash? Thanks in advance for the help.

There are 2 coolant temp sensors. 1 for PCM and 1 for the gauge only. Replace the one for gauge.

No 92-up V6 and V8's. In the FAQ I believe I have a sensor layout for the older engines.
