Default 318 swap help....

My build is a 1992 Dakota LE long bed 2wd, bought it in high school with about 90,xxx now it's around 190xxx. The v6 needed to be freshened up so I figured I would swap it.

I so far have purchased.

Non EGR JBA headers.
Non EGR Mopar M1
Electric fan, and harness,
Mopar performance pcm.

So I know I still need a complete block, and run two addition plugs for the injectors.

And I was looking for any guidance on deleting the egr, what resistor do I need?

The motor I am debating on is a 1994 Jeep 318, I don't know if the pan will fit or if the injector manifold with work with my truck. The net is leaving a lot of uncertainty. Any and all help is appreciated, I'm on the fence as to put the motor in my truck/ or steal the parts and use it as a core to pick up a reman unit.

What are your thoughts on running Rotella full synthetic.

I am going down the path of the 5.2 because I figure it is the more frugal option fuel wise. But if anyone knows what year 5.2/5.9's are a direct fit the net and part searches are a little fuzzy.

92-03 will directly fit and yeah the 360 will eat considerably more fuel.
A 318 will directly bolt to your mounts, your exhaust, your tranny and all. a 360 is external balance meaning a different torque converter or else a weighted flexplate. 360s didnt get the "Magnum treatment" til a year after the 3.9 and 318 did though with that one exception a 360 would also drop right in.

up to 95 had EGR and OBDI computer control. 96 "lost" EGR and gained OBDII computer control.
92and 93 had a 2 line feed/return fuel system 94+ went single line returnless; but that was all with in the fuel rail...easily swappable

92 and 93 are also supposedly highest HP "stock"; larger inner diam exhaust from the manifolds back.... being that you have a 92, a 92 or 93 fuel system would be easiest. When they went returnless the fuel pressure increased too and there is no longer an inline replaceable fuel filter on the returnless system.
A 318 is a 318 (within respective magnum/Non magnum series) i aint sure about the oil pan from a jeep but I do know that Jeeps had the starter on the opposite side from yours. but the starter actually bolts to the trans bellhousing not the block.
Need a 318? PM me. Near Chicago. got one from a 94 Dakota. Right pan and all, for you (full size truck and van=different pan than Dakota) but the oil pans bolt on; the engines (themselves) beyond that, are identical....
