Default Torque converter question

I have a 1995 Dakota 4x4 with 318. I need a new torque converter and the label under the hood says i have a 46 RH 4 speed transmission and the torque converter is a CC torque converter. What does CC stand for? lockup? Also i looked at Precision of New Hampton for a converter (http://gopnh.com/Transmissions.cfm?Transmission=%2046RH). I'm thinking i need the unweighted one at the bottom of the page since the original converter does not have a weight on it. I want some advice to be sure im right before i buy anything so all information is helpful. also if there is a better place to get a torque converter please let me know. Thank-you.

The weights only are necessary when you have a 360 motor. Good luck.

I have a 95 dodge dakota with the 5.2L V8. Mine's 2WD. I put a Mopar Performance 166k torque converter it it. It no revs higher before it catches to get it into the power band faster.

The 166k is not radically different than stock (145k). The k value shows the stall speed. 145k is around 1800RPM and 166k is around 2200-2300RPM. I think they have 175k as well, but these are not listed. If you stick to 166k and under, you will not need to add more transmission cooling with this unit either.

I got the part from Monicatti Chrysler. For Chrysler performance products they are among the cheapest I've found.

It was some years ago, but I believe the part number for my truck was P5007297AB. You can use the chart to check. Or call their parts department and let them know what you have. If you want the stock the PN is P4876947AB.

Its around $200-250 for one of these, which is pretty cheap. I've had mine in for around 5 years now and no problems.

5.2s are internally balanced with no weights. 5.9s are externally balanced and require weights.
