Default cv halfshaft boot questions

So i was under my truck today and found i have grease everywhere on the passenger side, turns out the inner and outter cv boot broke (prolly from my mud adventure which i got pulled into some deep ruts and somehow managed to climb out half an hour later)

So the only places i can find the boots it will run me almost 50 dollars for both.
and its 60 or so for the cv halfshaft from oreillys...

which comes to my first question. To my understanding my dakota (a 91 sport with a 318 4x4) only has rear wheel abs... but the half shafts i keep finding at oreillys (its the only parts store close) says it has an abs ring on it? will these work or do i need to find a non abs front half shaft?

my second question is, with these boots being broke and who knows how much grease still inside, am i fine to drive it as long as i dont use 4x4, or do i need to get it changed asap...

thanks in advance for the input

You said you want to find the Boots, but sounds like your thinking of the CV axle half shafts. The boots are replaceable and cheep, so this way you don't have to replace the entire shaft. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...eyword=cv+boot

It is okay to run an ABS CV half shaft on a non ABS truck.

It does need to be changed ASAP but not right away. A week is okay to wait. Pressure wash it all off when your ready to work on it so its not so dirty.

sometimes i hate oreillys, i was in the store and asked and they said they do not carry any cv axle boots... thanks. so if its been drove on about a week already and i need it still for another week or so, do you think i caused to much damage and should just change the whole shaft, or grease it up and put new boots on?

and now im onto my next question. since im pulling the cv halfshaft out anyway (to replace the whole shaft or the boots) i was thinking i might as well do the bearings and seals for the diff at least on the passenger side... problem is i can figure out what they are called. im new to this cv half shaft differential setup and the people at oreillys couldnt really help me out. i want bearings and seals for the differential. all they could try and get me was the pinion bearings and seal (which are also coming later just not quite ready for them)

is there anything else that i should change at least on the passenger side while its apart? the drivers side will follow soon after...

i was also wondering for gear oil what should i run for the front diff? i can be pretty hard on it at times just the standard 80w90?

So ive been looking for bearings and seals... and according to the parts manual in the faq, they are different per side, (whihc im having a hell of a time finding the right ones for the pass side) but on the moparpartsamerica website, their diagram shows the same number next to the image, but still lists if its left or right? Is there a difference? its just frustrating. i want all the seals and bearings fro the pass side clear up to the carrier bearings ( and if they arent attached to the carrier (like i said previously im new to this axle style) the bearings innermost closest to the ring and pinion with the bearing adjusters as im not comfortable setting up the backlash and preload and such)

can someone please help me?
